This week from The Forklift : All Out

We have to give it our best.

Every time we choose to do less than we could, or less than we should, we hurt our self-confidence.    It’s its subtlety that makes this thing called life so dangerous. We don’t even know when we are hurting ourselves! So, we continue to do less than our best.  Instant pleasure in exchange for little pain later.

What seems like a little harmless decision in the present, can come with a large cumulative effect.  Repeated every day, we can soon find ourselves not just doing less each day, we can find ourselves actually becoming less each day.  Having low self-confidence, or being insecure, is like being fat.  We don’t see ourselves getting fatter each day right? We just wake up one day and we are fat!

On the other side, every time we choose labor over rest, or action over chillin’, we develop an increasing sense of self-worth. As we give it our best, even if the results are not good, we grow. We feel happy.  Why? Because it really doesn’t matter what others know what we did, at the end of the day its what we know we did.  We have to do the work.  There’s no choice.

To become the master we must be the servant.

Go all out.  Always. matt
