Leadville Mission Update:
Successfully ran the Crown King Scramble yesterday, big props to my two joyful lady running mates who killed it with a time of 6 hours and 30 minutes(something like tg. The Crown King Scramble isn’t easy, a tough 50k that climbs over 6k feet. It will punish the unprepared..and they just showed up and ran! Amazing.
Beautiful though, blessed to be able to run. Goal was to keep heart rate at 150bpm until mile 25, and then maybe let it go a little. I followed the game plan pretty well (minus the 4 bean burritos I inhaled at the mile 15 aid station, but much needed. My nutrition and hydration has to change immediately ). I finished at 6 hours and 6 minutes, but it seemed harder than expected. Much harder. Minus the 5 minute bean burrito break and a 15 minute shoe repair, I’m pretty happy with the time, all things considered.
Its a step closer to Leadville.

THOUGHTS FROM THE TRAIL…
When it’s the most important time to be kind, is often times the most difficult.
We can’t combat anger with more anger, and expect something else besides… more anger.
Sometime when we feel let down by others, we have to remind ourselves about all the times we’ve let down others.
At the end of the day, we have to look down at our own feet and remind ourselves that we got here on our own accord.
Take ownership of your life.
You are your best asset, but also your biggest liability. Invest in yourself. Control yourself.
Have a great week.
