Comparison is an ugly thing that feeds the wrong one within us. It comes in many forms; gossip, sarcasm, materialism, and just good old “one-upping”, to name a few.
It is a futile game with no winners. Once “we win”, we seek the next person or thing to compare ourselves to, finding ourselves in the same position as where we started.
The type of self esteem purchased through comparison is short lived and simply not worth the price. There’s nothing we can do by dwelling on our low sense of self, except work ourselves into a stew of self-pity. It can’t be eliminated directly, but it can be replaced.
Rather than dwell on our low self-esteem directly, we instead turn to those around us and seek to be of service to them. By replacing our self-pity with active, loving concern for others, we become the kind of people we can respect. We begin to love ourselves through our action of loving others.
Like everything else pertaining to the good life, there are no shortcuts. To improve our self esteem, we must do esteemable acts. We must build others up to build ourselves up.
The Klarity Lifestyle is built upon mind control. We don’t compare. We love and practice gratitude for things we do have. We appreciate others and their differences for what they are.
